Hatch a Legend ("the app") is a virtual pet game developed and published by Companion Apps ("we"). This policy describes how the app handles information.
We never ask for your name, email, or any account. Your game lives on your device. The only data that leaves your device relates to optional in-app purchases (see "Purchases" below) and anonymous update checks.
The app does not require an account and does not ask for your name or email. Gameplay data (your pet, stats, items) is never transmitted to us or to third parties. The only data processed off-device is described in the "Purchases" and "App updates" sections below.
Your game progress (your pet, its stats, items, and settings) is saved only in the app's local storage on your device. It never leaves your device. Uninstalling the app deletes this data.
With your permission, the app schedules local notifications on your device (for example, when your pet finishes a mission or gets hungry). These are generated entirely on your device: no notification data is sent to any server.
The game itself works offline. The app connects to the internet only for the two purposes described below (purchases and updates). It contains no advertising, no third-party analytics, and no tracking technologies. We never sell data.
The app offers optional in-app purchases (purely cosmetic items). Payments are processed entirely by Google Play: we never receive or store your payment details (no card numbers, no billing address).
To deliver your purchases and restore them if you reinstall the app, we use RevenueCat, a purchase-validation service acting as our service provider. RevenueCat processes your purchase history for this app (which products you bought, via purchase receipts/tokens issued by Google Play) together with a random, anonymous app identifier generated on your device. This identifier is not linked to your name, email, or Google account by us. RevenueCat processes this data on our behalf and does not use it for advertising. See the RevenueCat privacy policy.
The app periodically checks for content updates by downloading files from our servers (hosted on GitHub Pages). This is a standard, anonymous web request: no personal data or gameplay data is sent with it.
To request deletion of the purchase records held by RevenueCat for your device, contact us at the email below and we will delete them. Note that your purchase entitlements remain tied to your Google Play account and can be restored through Google Play.
The app is intended for a general audience aged 13 and up. It collects no personal information from anyone, including children; the purchase data described above is anonymous and processed only to deliver purchases.
If the app's data practices ever change, we will update this page and the "Last updated" date above.
